Haiti is enduring a season of immense hardship, and we feel called to share the burden of prayer and action with you. The rising cost of goods has left many families in despair, struggling to afford even the basics for survival. Hunger continues to grip the poor, while armed gangs gain more ground across the nation, inching closer to the southern region. These gangs have sown fear and instability, making it increasingly difficult to provide relief and hope to those in need. Yet, in these dark times, we find strength in God’s promise.
Amid this turmoil, we are overjoyed to announce a remarkable blessing: the opening of the Port of Saint Louis. This new port will serve as a lifeline for southern Haiti, especially for nonprofits like Christian Mission South Haiti. Donations of essential supplies—medicine, clothing, canned goods, and more—can now be shipped directly to us in the southern region, cutting down the delays and challenges we have long faced.
At a time when travel and transportation are often unsafe due to the rise of armed gangs, this port is truly a provision from God.
This blessing also strengthens our faith as we continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve. However, we still face pressing challenges and humbly present the following requests for your prayerful consideration:
1. Motorcycles for Our Preachers: Our preachers journey to remote and often inaccessible areas to bring the Gospel and minister to communities in need. Reliable motorcycles would allow them to continue this vital work safely and efficiently.
2. Solar Marine Batteries: We are grateful to report that a monetary donation has enabled us to move forward with key projects, but we are still in need of solar marine batteries to power our operations in areas without consistent electricity.
3. A Radio Transmitter for Outreach: This critical tool would allow us to expand our reach, broadcasting the Good News of Christ and providing encouragement to people across southern Haiti, especially those isolated by the current challenges.
We believe that the opening of the Port of Saint Louis is a tangible sign of God’s provision, enabling us to continue our work with renewed hope and efficiency. As Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
We ask for your prayers, support, and partnership as we navigate these trying times. Pray for peace in Haiti, for the safety of those who live under the constant threat of violence, and for this mission to remain a beacon of hope in southern Haiti.
May the Lord bless you richly for your faithfulness, and may His love and provision continue to sustain us all in His service.
